Nine other ACE2 variants (S19P, I21V, E23K, K26R, T27A, N64K, T92I, Q102P, and H378R) were also predicted to increase the susceptibility to COVID-19 in over 290,000 samples [46], although some ACE2 variants such as rs73635825 and rs143936283 showed completely different effects in different independent studies [47,48,49]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and COVID-19.
