In 2010, the anti-inflammatory effect of methanol extract of BP heartwood was investigated in NC/Nga mice induced by an extract of the house-dust mite, Dermatophagoides farina; the results showed that the methanol extract could obviously inhibit AD-like skin lesions by decreasing the levels of IgE and IL-4 and inhibiting the induction of TARC/CCL17, MDC/CCL22, and RANTES/CCL5 in HaCaT cells [98]. The gene discussed is CCL5; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
