In 2014, the ethanol extract of BK leaves within a dose of 200–1000 μg/mL could treat Nc/Nga mice that were predisposed to develop AD-like skin lesions induced by D. farinae extract; further study demonstrated that its mechanism might be related to significantly downregulating the plasma levels of IgE and IL-4, as well as inhibiting hTARC secretion in HaCaT cells by activated TNF-α/IFN-γ [97]. This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and Alzheimer disease.
