The contribution of catechin, the major constituent (42.9% w/w of extract) of TS extract, was presumed through tyrosinase inhibition due to the ability of hydrogen bonding to the active site of the enzyme from its hydroxyl groups [25]; moreover, catechin contribution has been supported by a report on its potent antioxidation and tyrosinase inhibition in B16 melanoma cells [26].
