Extracts of Lycium chinense induced anti-inflammatory responses by suppressing interleukin (IL)-1β and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α expression and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation [7] and exerting antioxidant effects to treat Parkinson’s disease [8]; moreover, neuroprotective effects in retinal ischemia and reperfusion injury studies have been observed [9,10]. Here, TNF is linked to Parkinson disease.
