In addition, Trabert et al., 2011, found an inverse correlation between dairy intake and endometriosis [22]; the explanation for this correlation may be the association between endometriosis and vitamin D, which may be derived from the observation that vitamin D stimulates T-regulatory cells and the secretion of IL-10, reduces the concentration of proinflammatory cytokine IL-17, and dampens T-helper 1 immune function [22,23,24,25].
