BAP1 is a tumor suppressor gene whose loss can drive carcinogenesis in several tissues, and it currently represents one of the most attractive cancer-related genes for several reasons, including its presence in several solid tumors (for example, malignant pleural mesothelioma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, uveal melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, etc.), as well as the number of pathways that are indirectly or directly modulated by this gene (e.g., immune cells development, ferroptosis, cell metabolism, etc.)[34]. This evidence concerns the gene BAP1 and uveal melanoma.
