IL10 and Crohn disease: Repeated intravenous or subcutaneous administration of recombinant human IL-10 (rhIL-10) to patients with active steroid-resistant Crohn’s disease [124] or mild to moderately active Crohn’s disease [125] was well tolerated and resulted in an improvement in disease scores, while subcutaneous administration of rhIL-10 to healthy patients and those with CD resulted in a reversible decline in haemoglobin and thrombocyte counts, or an increased production of IFN-γ [126,127,128,129].
