Regarding obesity associated metabolic and pro-inflammatory alterations, tumor-bearing HFD obese mice had a higher body mass (Figure 2A), fasting glucose (Figure 2B), fasting insulin (Figure 2C) and Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA) insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) (Figure 2D), as well as circulating leptins (Figure 2E), glutamine (Figure 2F), WBCs (Figure 3A), lymphocytes (Figure 3B), neutrophils (Figure 3C), soluble P-selectin (Figure 3D), TGF-β1 (Figure 3E) and HMGB1 (Figure 3F). This evidence concerns the gene LEP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
