It is important to note that the aging process, also termed inflammaging, could further augment the tertiary degeneration process both in the CNS and on the periphery, and it is described by the current authors as the quadric phase of the primary proprioceptive Piezo2 microinjury [7,10], not to mention that the aging-augmented processes could lead to suppressed sensory signalling, e.g., the NGF-TrkA axis [41] and osteocalcin [42], paving the way to osteoporosis.
