Other studies indirectly support the idea of a role of LRP8 in tumorigenesis: Dun et al., have shown that mycophenolic acid severely downregulates the expression of cell surface LRP8, inhibiting cell migration and the invasion of gastric cancer cells [143]; Cai et al., have separately found that LRP8 is responsible for hepatocellular carcinoma cell resistance to sorafenib [145]. This evidence concerns the gene LRP8 and gastric cancer.
