The mortality in UC-MSC-treated TNBS mice was 20% (55% in colitis model); the treatment reduced the inflammation of the transmural area, depletion of epithelial cells and focal loss of crypts. IL-20 and TGF-Beta were significantly higher in UC-MSC-treated mice (p = 0.04 and 0.02 respectively). This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and colitis.
