The IFITM family (in humans, five IFITM members: IFITM1, IFITM2, IFITM3, IFITM5, and IFITM10; in mice, seven Ifitm members: IFITM1, IFITM2, IFITM3, IFITM5, IFITM6, IFITM7, IFITM10) was first discovered as interferon-induced genes in human neuroblastoma cells [24,25,26]. This evidence concerns the gene IFITM1 and neuroblastoma.
