Interestingly, in tumours where Cad11 or N-cadherin promotes metastasis (e.g., breast and prostate cancers, [93,94,95,96,97,98]), then inhibition of Cad11 would induce apoptosis (through Stat3 inhibition) in metastatic tumour cells specifically, since normal cells would have low E2F activity, hence would be spared.
