Severe COVID-19 infection was correlated with a low CD16 expression (r = (−) 0.72; 95% CI (−)0.92–(−)0.23; p = 0.01) and high CD64 expression (r = 0.76; 95% CI 0.31–0.93; p = 0.01) in the neutrophil granulocytes, and ARDS was correlated with CD36 expression (r = 0.66, 95% CI 0.07–0.91; p = 0.03). This evidence concerns the gene CD36 and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
