Recently, Huang et al. [43] explored the impact of MC and Ki-67 scores in 41 cases of neuroendocrine tumors of variable histological grades; both manual and pathologist-supervised digital image analysis methods were used showing a strong correlation between quantification of mitosis and Ki-67 index only in the tumors with peak Ki-67 index less than 30%. The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is neuroendocrine neoplasm.
