IL15 and toxic epidermal necrolysis: The results suggest that the effects of IL-15 in SJS/TEN patients may be highly dependent on the expression of its private receptor IL-15Rα in affected skin, and it is tempting to speculate that the cutaneous expression of IL-15Rα in SJS/TEN might provide an explanation for the tissue-specific immune cytotoxic response in this clinical entity, although additional research is needed to explore IL15RA gene and protein expression in other T cell-mediated cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions to confirm this hypothesis.
