Thanks to PEA technology, several candidate biomarkers were identified in different pathologies, such as FABP2, FGF5, LPL, and LTA in coronary artery disease (CAD) pathogenesis [45]; ITGAV, EpCAM, IL18, SLAMF7 and IL8 were identified as biomarkers in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) [46]; and ten candidate biomarkers, including CHIT1, SMOC2, MMP-10, LDLR, CD200, EIF4EBP1, ALCAM, RGMB, tPA and STAMBP, were identified in early Alzheimer’s disease [47]. This evidence concerns the gene STAMBP and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
