ADARB1 and cancer: In mammals, ADAR2 is crucial for the generation of different protein isoforms starting from the same mRNA in the central nervous system [11,12], and accumulating studies are now underlining the importance of ADAR2-mediated editing in key RNAs (coding and non-coding) involved in several diseases affecting the brain [13,14,15], with its role now emerging in different cancers [16,17,18,19,20,21,22].
