We found that patients with AD and PD expressed more galectin-3 (MDS = 0.64, 95% CI 0.45–0.83 and MDS = 0.58, 95% CI 0.28–0.88, respectively) and patients with MS expressed more galectin-9 (MDS = 1.03, 95% CI 0.62–1.44) compared to healthy individuals (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene LGALS9 and Alzheimer disease.
