To investigate whether there was significant overlap between epilepsy risk genes with anti-epileptic drug targets, we identified 17 overlapped genes (CACNA1A, CHRNA4, CHRNA7, GABRA1, GABRA2, GABRB2, GABRG2, GRIK1, GRIN1, GRIN2B, KCNQ2, KCNQ3, SCN1A, SCN2A, SCN3A, SCN8A and SCN9A), which showed a significant overlap by Fisher’s Exact Test, demonstrating anti-epileptic drug targets were over-represented in risk genes of epilepsy. Here, CACNA1A is linked to epilepsy.
