Previous studies found that high Pitt Bacteremia Score and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II), the presence of septic shock, multi-organ failure, pneumonia, ICU admission, use of ventilator and central venous catheter, increased leukocyte count, and low albumin levels were all associated with disease severity of CNSAB bacteremia [2,5,8,9,10,11,12,14,17].
