The Lac-MSNs have a highly ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure with a high surface area of 1012 m2/g, an average pore size of 3.7 nm, and are cytotoxic and endocytosed by the ASGPR-positive hepatoma cells but exhibit non-selective endocytosis with the ASGPR-negative NIH3T3 cells. Here, ASGR1 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
