A study on 247 patients (70% with HFpEF) reported that Gal-3 was strongly correlated with an increased risk of CV death and HF hospitalization in HFpEF patients, and the HR was 2.33 per 1 standard deviation increase in Gal-3 (95% CI: 1.72–2.94, p = 0.009) after adjustment for clinical factors and NT-proBNP [89]. Here, NPPB is linked to hydrops fetalis.
