A similar finding was seen in the CVID participants from this study, which showed alterations in the T cell compartment; however, CD4+ T cells’ absolute counts were normal but CD8+ T cells were significantly increased, disturbing the CD4:CD8 ratio when compared to healthy donors, and there was a reduction in double-negative T cells and NK cells’ relative frequencies. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is common variable immunodeficiency.
