In animal experiments using mice with adipocyte-specific innate knockout of Atg7 and mice with adipocyte-specific knockout of Atg1611 or Atg3, respectively, it was concluded that innate inhibition of autophagy affects adipocyte differentiation, promotes adipocyte browning and increases insulin sensitivity, but selective inhibition of autophagy in mature adipocytes leads to insulin resistance (Frendo-Cumbo et al., 2021). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is Insulin resistance.
