Individuals in the very high cumulative TyG index quartile (Table 1) were more likely to be male, white, smoke, have experienced previous cardiovascular events or depression, have a longer duration of hyperlipidemia or a shorter duration of diabetes, have a higher BMI, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, HbA1c, alanine transaminase (ALT), eGFR, TC, TG, and FBG levels, and have low HDL-C. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and hyperlipidemia.
