Analysis of the dataset GSE24862 consisting of mRNA expression in parental and PLX4032-resistant sub-lines derived from BRAF(V600E)-positive melanoma cell lines and short-term cultures from clinical trial patients25 showed that expression of mRNAs for DUSP4, -5, -6, -7 and -9 was higher (statistically significant with p values = 0.001–0.0292) in pre-treated samples compared to post-BRAFi treated samples showing that expression of several DUSPs is downregulated by BRAFi treatment (Supp Fig. S3A). This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and melanoma.
