CD4 and infection: Considering that our patients had severe impairment of cell-mediated immunity (median CD4+ T cell counts of 99 × 106/L, Table 1) and the median viral load (2.52 × 105 copies/ml, Table 2) was similar to or higher than that reported in previous studies (Xue et al., 2016; Lee et al., 2017) indicated a greater likelihood of infection.
