For predicting EGFR mutations, our proposed brain metastasis-based LR-EGFR (AUCs of 0.750–0.850) outperformed previously proposed traditional radiomics models based on primary lung cancer (AUCs ranged from 0.575 to 0.762) (Liu et al., 2016; Gevaert et al., 2017; Yuan et al., 2017; Zhang et al., 2018; Digumarthy et al., 2019; Pinheiro et al., 2020) and brain metastasis (AUCs ranged from 0.675 to 0.733) (Wang et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and lung cancer.
