CEACAM5 and cancer: Interestingly CEMIP, a cell migration-inducing protein32 and one of the strongest interactors identified in our POU5F1B pull-down assay, was expressed at significantly higher levels in control than POU5F1B-depleted LS1034 cells, as were IL33, also previously reported to facilitate CRC cell proliferation43, and CEACAM5 (CEA), a cancer biomarker discovered more than 50 years ago44 and since then identified as playing a role in CRC progression and metastasis45.
