MUC12 is a membrane glycoprotein that is mainly localized to the cell membranes and is highly expressed on the surface of cells in colorectal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and MUC12 is highly expressed in RCC, suggesting that MUC12 could also serve as a potential surface molecular marker for RCC cells [22, 23, 48]. This evidence concerns the gene MUC12 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
