Immunohistochemical (IHC) analyses of human NPC biopsies showed that a higher density of YAP1 and FAPα in stromal fibroblasts was associated with a decreased abundance of tumor-infiltrating CD8a+ T lymphocytes with a granzyme B (GZMB) cytotoxic signature, implying that fibroblasts may also engage in modulating tumor immunity. The gene discussed is FAP; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
