Unlike other viruses like influenza where quercetin imparts antiviral activity at virus–host cell fusion step (Wu et al., 2015) or Ebola virus where quercetin inhibits anti-IFN activity of EBOV VP24 (Fanunza et al., 2020), in context of rotavirus infection, quercetin utilizes a different strategies to exert its antiviral effect. This evidence concerns the gene IFNA1 and Rotavirus infection.
