We speculated that by activating the PI3K/AKT pathway, CCL5 increased Snail1 expression, which led to the downregulation of the epithelial marker E-cadherin and upregulation of the mesenchymal markers Vimentin and Fibronectin, thus promoting the EMT, migration, and metastasis of ccRCC cells. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
