To elucidate the association between the CD36 gene polymorphisms and methylation with obesity and type 2 diabetes, we conducted this study whose general objective was to determine the interactions between CD36 polymorphism (SNPs rs1761667, rs1527483, and rs3211867) and methylation of the CD36 gene and their impacts on obesity and type 2 diabetes in Senegalese women. Here, CD36 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
