UBASH3A and type 1 diabetes mellitus: Two T1DM-associated variants of UBASH3A, including the risk alleles at rs11203203 and rs80054410, can increase BASH3A expression in human primary CD4+ T cells (41) that mediate the destruction of β-cells (33), indicating that circ_0072697 may mediate the effects of a risk factor for T1DM via UBASH3A and may serve as a biomarker of T1DM.
