In the adjusted model, CRP level at admission, smoking status, postmenopausal status, and past medical history of PID were significantly associated with emergency surgery. + 1 mg/dL increase in CRP at admission was associated with significantly increased adjusted odds for emergency surgery (aOR = 1.07, 1.02 to 1.13, p = 0.01). Here, CRP is linked to pelvic inflammatory disease.
