In order to address the question of autoimmune encephalitis resembling dementia syndromes, a nationwide observational cohort study in middle-aged and older patients (>45 year-old) with anti-LGI1 (leucine-rich, glioma-inactivated 1), anti-NMDAR, anti-GABAbR (Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid type A receptor), and anti-CASPR2 encephalitis was conducted in the Netherlands, with interesting findings and lessons to be drawn.33 Here, LGI1 is linked to encephalitis.
