The transcription factor Sox4, which has been implicated in the pathogenesis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and was recently found to be enriched in a regeneration associated pre-alveolar type-1 cell transitional state (PATS), has been shown to both regulate and have its own expression regulated by PI3K signaling (Ramezani-Rad et al., 2013; Wang et al., 2019; Bilir et al., 2016; Mehta et al., 2017; Kobayashi et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene SOX4 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
