Cho YG et al. observed a higher frequency (65%, 52 of 80) of promoter hypermethylation of LIFR in colon cancer samples than in matched normal tissues (5%, 4 of 80) and colon normal mucosa tissues (0%, 0 of 13) of noncancer patients using quantitative methylation-specific PCR (qMSP) [37]. This evidence concerns the gene LIFR and malignant colon neoplasm.
