ZIKV infection of engineered or wild-type (WT) cells revealed that the KD of RIG-I, but not TLR7 and TLR8, conspicuously attenuated the ZIKV-induced pyroptotic cell death and GSDME cleavage (Figure 4D-F), suggesting that RIG-I may play a major role in ZIKV-induced pyroptosis. This evidence concerns the gene RIGI and Zika virus infectious disease.
