We demonstrated that citral (3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienal) isolated from L. cubeba inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO), TNF-α, and IL-6 by reducing NF-κB activation and ROS production in LPS-activated RAW264.7 macrophages and improved focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in mice (11). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
