MCC950, a potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of NLRP3, inhibited canonical and non-canonical NLRP3 activation and improved various NLRP3-associated diseases in animal models of inflammatory bowel disease, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, lung inflammation, asthma, stroke, liver disease, and many other inflammatory conditions (27, 28). Here, NLRP3 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
