The presence of an APRI score >0.5 over time was independently associated with the HIV-HBV co-infection, irrespective on the presence of HBsAg (p < 0.001), male gender (p = 0.004), log10 plasma HIV RNA (p = 0.018), detectable plasma HIV RNA (p = 0.022), CD4+T cell count <200 cells/mm3 (p< 0.002), as well as with a CD4+T cell count <500 cells/mm3 (p = 0.005). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and coinfection.
