NPPB and Hypertension: Compared to the population with lower cardiac biomarkers, participants with elevated hs-CTnT (≥14 ng/L) and NT-proBNP (≥300 pg/mL) were older, more likely to be female, African American, and smoker, complicated with hypertension and diabetes, have lower education, and higher concentrations of cardiovascular risk markers in midlife (P < 0.05 for all comparisons).
