IL6 and Cholecystitis: Here, laparoscopic cholecystectomy resulted in lower postoperative levels of CRP, IL-6, and TNF-α in patients versus small-incision cholecystectomy, suggesting that laparoscopic cholecystectomy is more effective in alleviating the inflammatory response in patients with gallbladder stones and chronic cholecystitis versus small-incision cholecystectomy, which may be attributable to the mild damage to hepatobiliary function and the low surgical trauma during laparoscopic cholecystectomy [20].
