Serum galectin-3 levels correlated very well with native T1 relaxation times, both global (r = 0.378, p = 0.019) and septal T1 values (r = 0.421, p = 0.009), suggesting the usefulness of galectin-3 for estimating myocardial fibrosis (Figures 3E,F).
