In our study, the TADT and non-TADT groups demonstrated no significant differences in their baseline characteristics (sex; age; BMI; tumor distance from the anal verge; tumor diameter; history of neoadjuvant therapy; TMN staging; levels of albumin, hemoglobin, carcinoembryonic antigen, and carbohydrate antigen 19-9; presence of hypertension or diabetes; smoking history; history of blood transfusion; and ASA score), indicating that baseline characteristics were comparable between the two groups. This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and diabetes mellitus.
