The known functions of these genes cluster into two main functional families, 3 out of 8 are DNA repair genes associated with Fanconi anemia: FANCD2, SLX4, and FANCA [40–45], while 3 out the 8 are HLA genes comprising the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) involving immunity. This evidence concerns the gene FANCD2 and Fanconi anemia.
