CCL2 and COVID-19: In agreement with previous COVID-19 reports, we did find a significant induction of IP-10/CXCL10 levels in both tracheobronchial and alveolar SARS-CoV-2 infected ALI tissues (up to 25-fold increase in alveolar ALI tissues compared to uninfected controls), as well as other important chemokines and growth factors (CCL2/MCP-1, CCL3/MIP-1α, CXCL-8/IL-8, G-CSF) that were elevated in tracheobronchial ALI tissues.
