Interestingly, Bisserier et al. [46] demonstrated that an increased expression of the SIN3 transcription regulator family member A (SIN3A) repressor downregulated the levels of DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) while promoting the expression of the DNA demethylase TET1 in human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells suggesting a potential epigenetic-based approach to attenuate PAH. This evidence concerns the gene TET1 and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
